CH. 123 - Submarine hunter (1946)
Scale of drawing: 1/50th
This vessel, built in the USA during World War II was transferred to
France under the Lease-Lend program. 335 ships of this type were built,
of which 50 were delivered to France. These vessels are specifically
designed for anti submarine warfare but can be used as minesweepers.
All these ships were actively involved in the Mediterranean and some of them covered extensive distances, patrolling along the coastlines, a gruelling and generally uninteresting job.
After the war they were used for the huge and dangerous task of minesweeping. Our vessel was finally assigned to the Navy school of Lanvéoc-Poulmic, before decommissioning.
