PSO Adroit
Plans at the 1/100th scale

The Adroit is a PSO, an oceanic patrol vessel, the first of a series of OPV Gowind (Offshore Patrol Vessels) of the DCNS.
In order to penetrate the market, and to incite  in a « de visu » situation international clients to place orders, DCNS decided to develop very rapidly, at its own expense, an initial experimental sample intended for testing in operational conditions at sea for a period of three years. A partnership that was established with the National Navy enabled the company to own a ship that was tried at sea and to apply modifications based on the results of the experimentation. At the end of 2011, the ship was loaned to the National Navy which commissioned it and home-ported it at Toulon where it was integrated within the Force d'Action Navale (FAN).
Thus improving their sea-tested product, the builders were better equiped to present to foreign navies, a « sample ship » fitted with the highest-performing equipment. But the national market was also targetted by DCNS since the French Navy was also in need of 18 units of Offshore Patrol Vessels in order to replace their patrol boats and surveillance frigates over the next 15 years.

The Adroit was the first French vessel to be fitted by DCNS with a single mast. It Includes a composite-materials radome surmounted by an aluminum structure containing the two antennas of the two radars and the different communication systems. This mast allows for a 360° panoramic vision from the bridge.
